The Family Values Worksheet
Does your family know what your values are? Most parents think they have instilled in their teens-children the family values. The reality is most teens-children do not know what the family values are. What a teen-child values can be a whole lot different then what a parent values.
It is important to discuss your family values with your teens-children, then write the values out so your whole family knows exactly what your values are and have a written reminder. We have started a list of common family values, and have left a few blanks to fill in your family's specific values, such as going to worship. It is very important that you set an example and have the whole family follow these family values. If you approach it with a “Do as I say not as I do” attitude, it will not work.
Once the family values have been established, you can then follow them up with specific Contracts spelling out the rules to help enforce the family values.
